This project focused on the conservation and restoration of the characteristic elements of the current trulli and converse, combined with the introduction of modern elements to improve comfort and functionality.
Sinergie‘s work covered both the external and internal areas.
In particular, for the external restoration, all excavations were carried out with great care in order to preserve the structural integrity of the land and to create functional and accessible spaces. Siloxane and lime-based paints and grouts were used to restore the cones and stone, using ancient laying techniques such as ‘scialpatura’. This approach not only ensures a durable and weather-resistant finish, but also an aesthetic that blends perfectly with the traditional architectural style of the trulli. Stone paths add a rustic and traditional touch, leading guests from the various entrances to the outdoor green space. Finally, the Finnish infinity pool provides a touch of luxury and relaxation, blending harmoniously with the surrounding landscape.
Inside, the floors were laid with a hydraulic lime mortar known as Pastellone, which offers both robustness and a traditional aesthetic. The same material has been used in the bathrooms and kitchens, with colours ranging from pink to blue, perfectly blending in with the external architectural style.
The restoration of these trulli and converse has been a wonderful technical and traditional challenge, aimed at preserving the historical heritage of this land, leading to the creation of one of the most luxurious private structures in the Itria Valley.
